Congratulations! You’ve made it halfway!
2022 reaches its halfway mark at the end of today. What do you think so far? Has the year met the expectations you had back on New Year’s Eve when 2022 was stretched before us like a blank page ready to be written upon? Take a moment to pause and reflect upon where you are. Where do you want to go? If you’ve gotten off track, the good news is that you still have the year’s second half to get back on.
The halfway point is the perfect time to assess where you’ve been and determine where you’re going. Perhaps this is where Halfway Houses originated their names. They are facilities used to help those incarcerated or inflicted with addictions or specific mental health issues. The services provided assist individuals in reintegrating into society and learning to better support and care for themselves. This transitional aide is essential in ensuring that the progress achieved up to that moment doesn’t regress into former harmful practices.
Although a Halfway House described above may not be a facility conducive or necessary for your self-reflective assessment of your year’s journey, please know that assistance, guidance, and love are always available to you. You are always welcome to visit a spiritual “Halfway House” called a House of Worship. A famous quote attributed to Abigail Van Buren (Dear Abby) tells us, “A church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints.” Maybe, this midpoint in the year is a time for you to strengthen your spirituality.
We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday, July 3rd, at our 8:00 AM (outdoor, weather permitting) or 10:15 AM (featuring patriotic music) worship liturgies. We are also offering a responsive prayer service at 6:00 PM.
Blessings,
Pastor Marc
